World’s first sandcastle hotel
31Jul08
You may have heard of a hotel made from ice, now there is a hotel made from sand. The world’s first sand castle hotel has recently opened at weymouth beach in the seaside town of dorset in the UK. The hotel was constructed from approximately 1000 tonnes of sand, built over 15sqm reaching a height of 4m.

ha3… no roof
I love building sandcastles and such, but I absolutly hate sand. It gets everywhere and wont come off
That bed looks entirely uncomfortable…
Oh great. Sand. It’s like building with concrete except not as good.
I dread to think how this would survive our infamous British weather! Really impressive stuff though.
haha.. agree with tokjan.
quite innovative anyway.
Seems like it would be awfully uncomfortable.
lol where is that exactly??
How do you get reservations?
RED OUT
I’d love to visit and rest in it one day. I’m really wondering how it’s built, it can’t be only out of sand, it wouldn’t stand “sunny” Britannia. Still, nice hotel.
Creative and talented..
This is not an easy hobby…
I think i’d pass on this hotel. I’d have sand in places I don’t really want sand.
Amusing. I wonder if they have solved the problem of rain…?
haha, I see British are pretty creative, or bored, I would not sleep over in this hotel over night, especially the “sunny” weather. on the pics though it does not look like the UK. However will be or is already a guest in this hotel, how is it?
